From right to left: Mayor Jeff Hall, Barbara Gilkes (DOD & City Grant Writer), the Honorable Bubba (a young man we found playing at the park when we all arrived), Councilman and HHCA Secretary Mark Fraizer and Bob Meldahl also with the HHCA The rain gods were good to us and allowed us to cut the ribbon on Wednesday October 30, 2019 at 1:30 after a brief ceremony with about 15 people on hand. Mark Fraizer – who headed up the HHCA Park Committee announced that this ceremony today was the culmination of 3 years work in putting together a neighborhood park, community garden and finally (and in short order!) new park equipment, a shelter house, grills and a newly paved parking area and entrance from North Street. Amazingly – and without fanfare – kids and young families are discovering our new park. In fact Bubba’s father shared with us that they just stumbled upon it last week and Bubba demands to go there daily! PERFECT! Come check it out for yourselves. Bring the kids and the grand kids. Like Bubba – you’ll be glad you did!
